TD/OMS (Object Management System) maps the dependencies between software components in a Software Configuration Database. Around this database you will arrange a "defined life-cycle". This describes the process that is carried out during each change. This process normally consists of the following steps:

    1. Incident Management -> monitoring, when does a problem occur?
    2. Change Request Management -> problem analysis, what are the demands?
    3. Task Management -> who is doing what, when?
    4. Test Management -> who carries out which tests, and when?
    5. Deployment -> taking the software into use again

These steps are gone over (repeated!) every time during the life-cycle of a software component. Therefore it is not a once-only, but an iterative process. A process which is gone over time and again until a software component is phased out.

Besides this basic functionality you can choose from a range of additional modules. From the helpdesk functionality and impact analysis, to modules for the distribution of adapted (changed) components, or modules for the Windows platform. Because of this modular setup you can always adjust TD/OMS perfectly to your specific demands.
